The Hurricane

Excellent biopic based on Rubin Carter's memoirs. According to the reviews, the filmmakers fudged the details a bit, but Carter's story remains powerful, and Denzel Washington brings the former champ vividly to life.

Sliding Doo

Even if Gwyneth Paltrow hadn't given an excellent dual performance as the parallel universe versions of one young Englishwoman, this flick would still get bonus points for "best gratuitous use of a Monty Python quote."
