Sands of Iwo Jima
Like watching a Stallone movie from decades before Stallone ever existed. The most compelling part of this flick? The actual battle footage worked into the narrative. You still get, from that footage, a sense of the unimaginable experiences soldiers had to face in the Pacific campaign. The actual movie parts of this movie are kind of dumb and uninteresting; it weirdly does a disservice to the men who actually fought in those campaigns. You're way better off sticking to Eastwood's Iwo Jima films; let this one rest with the Duke.
