Me Before You

Emilia Clarke is rapidly becoming a favorite around here. This flick is totally her show, and she does a fabulous job in being such a joyous presence--in a sometimes somber story, no less--that she elevates what might otherwise be a standard romance into a really good movie. The film also has a strong visual sense going for it; it is beautifully shot and looks great throughout, which compensates greatly for its biggest weakness, an overly obtrusive soundtrack. Mostly, though, this is all about Clarke and her radiant presence, which makes this movie worthy of a very strong recommendation.
