Holy shit! How did Disney get away with ripping this movie off for
Aladdin? Seriously, the latter is in some ways a shot for shot remake of this old chestnut; it’s so unoriginal that even many of the names are the same. Well, considering how great the rip-off is, the original must be brilliant, right? Not quite, to be honest; some parts of this flick are really cheesy. But then again, it’s also wildly entertaining, and it gets points for being sincere in its occasional cheesiness. The thing works, and this oldie reminds us of why the world came to love the movies in the first place, oh those so many years ago.
