Captains Courageous

Kipling without the raging imperialism. It starts slow, but once the waves start rolling so does the movie. The relationship between Spencer Tracy's poor Portuguese fisherman Manuel (a great, Oscar-winning performance) and Freddie Bartholomew's stranded spoiled brat forms the core of what is ultimately an effective tale. Worth a look.
